What I’ve learnt…

First of all, I’d like to give a shout out to all mums, breastfeeding or not. Every mother and child is different. Not all mums choose to breastfeed and not all mums can and that’s ok. Breastfeeding your child is a wonderful thing but it can also bring about a lot of extra pressure on a new mum. I experienced this with my first child and felt frustrated and tired but we eventually got there. It was slightly easier with my second child, who is now slowly weaning.

Of course breastfeeding has many benefits. I’m most grateful for the fact that although my youngest picked up all the germs her brother brought home from kinder, she had little symptoms and lasted for a short while. Breastfeeding also solved a lot of baby’s troubles, like tummy aches, being afraid or wanting to feel safe. Another blessing is that you never have to worry about running out of milk, especially during a pandemic πŸ™‚

Breastfeeding worked for us and now that our journey is slowly coming to an end, I will miss it but I’m also looking forward to my little one’s next milestones, being able to wear what I want and of course drinking more wine 🍷😁
